Snakes: Sinners, Saints, or Snacks (Sat)

Workshop

The snake metaphor in Genesis is evil. Indigenous people sometimes see snakes differently. Understanding others is challenging, and misunderstanding may be disastrous. We will explore ways to understand others more deeply. This workshop demonstrates that each culture has its own metaphors, and it is wrong to impose our meaning on others. Honouring Indigenous theology means being open to expressing Indigenous metaphors in Bible teaching.

Participants are invited to take part in a transformation dance that works best with 15 to 100 people. Incarnational and two-life cycle teachings arising from the dance are shared. At the end of the workshop, participants will realize even snakes are good creatures.
