Durham College + University of Ontario Institute of Technology (DC–UOIT) will be host to the 43rd General Council and Festival of Faith.

For Council Attendees/Commissioners

Council attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodations. A block of rooms has been reserved through UOIT the Residence & Conference Centre–Oshawa at DC–UOIT for most registered attendees. Information regarding booking your accommodations is available in your confirmation e-mail. Meals are included for most registered attendees.

A shuttle service from the Oshawa GO/VIA train station will be available Friday, July 20 from 2pm to 8pm, and Saturday, July 21 from 9am to 5pm. A return shuttle service will also operate July 28 from 8am to 12 noon.

Getting Here by Car

Located about an hour east of Toronto, DC–UOIT is easy to get to via Highway 401. Parking is available onsite in Commencement Lot 1.

From the west on Hwy. 401

  • Travelling east on Hwy. 401, take exit 417 Simcoe St.
  • Turn north on Simcoe St. and travel for approximately 8 km to the stoplights at Commencement Circle.
  • DC–UOIT will be on your left.

From the east on Hwy. 401

  • Travelling west on Hwy. 401, take exit 418 Ritson Rd./Simcoe St.
  • The exit becomes Drew St. Drive north on Drew for 100 m.
  • Turn left at the lights onto First Ave. Drive west on First Ave. for 500 m.
  • Turn right onto Simcoe St., and north for approximately 7.5 km to the stoplights at Commencement Circle.
  • DC–UOIT will be on your left.

Getting Here by Rail and Public Transit

The DC–UOIT campus is accessible via GO Transit or VIA Rail at the Oshawa GO/VIA station. Connections can be made to Durham Region Transit, the Toronto Transit Commission, and the UP Express at Pearson Airport.
